Apple Banana ‘Manzano’ (Musa hybrid)

Here’s an all-around favorite variety for home gardeners. ‘Manzano’ (Spanish for apple) bananas have the flavor of a tart apple paired with a sweet banana. The short, stout fruit are completely seedless. It may be grown in gardens in zones 8 and higher or planted in a large pot in northern zones. The green leaves have a slight red margin on the leaf edges. Provide full sun and plenty of water and fertilizer for best results.
