Bronze Beauty (Nautilocalyx pemphidus)

This rare little gesneriad from Venezuela is ideal for a small space with low light. It’s a great plant for a shady windowsill, a light garden or a terrarium. The strapped leaves are acutely undulated, or crinkled, and form a mounding habit that creates a full dense specimen. The pure white blooms stud the deep bronze foliage like sparkling gems. Somewhat slow in growth, it’s easy to maintain as an attractive houseplant. Like most gesneriads it likes a period of dryness between waterings and bright indirect light.
