In the Protea family, it’s commonly called Pincushion Flower for its unusual flower shape. This evergreen shrub prefers acidic soils and may benefit from the addition of sulfur. Supplement with a micronutrient fertilizer that includes zinc, magnesium, manganese and copper but provide very little phosphorus for best growth. Flowers last nearly 3 weeks in cut arrangements.
